This is indeed an impressive work of art, even if the subject is quite conventional.

What I enjoyed mostly is the amount of work that has gone into the fairy, which is quite a lot. Highlighting the hair and making the veil transparent, but not too transparent, surely must have something that goes beyond simple layer combining.

The addition of touches of color at the most shadowy spaces of the image elevate its total quality and the choice of flowers to do so is congruent to the overall theme.

Furthermore the aurora-halo effect around the fairy is quite good and the fact that is spread to the creatures (birds and bugs) around the fairy is appropriate, although a bit over-accentuated.

Another interesting point is the ripple effect in the lake, which is nicely done, but the subtle reflection is missing.

A couple of things I did not like about this work is the processing of the leaves of the overhanging trees. Here an inner shadow effect could be used to cover the shine of the leaves, which are supposed to be lit from behind, not the front. Also the left side tree should be toned down and darkened. Finally the 2D vector type ornamental leaves and small flowers decorating the frame for the bottom half of the image should have been avoided, as the mixing of more that a couple of techniques becomes in my opinion heavy or baroque.

All in all it's a 4/5 piece of art, which exhibits an upcoming digital artist. Keep up the good work. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)" />
